Flash / ActionScript animation

This is an example of the well known 'Ball Break-Out' game that many people will have seen before.  In this case Flash / ActionScript has been used to create the basic format.

For the purposes of teaching first year undergraduate students I developed the game from the ground up as the course being taught was new with little or no background material to work from.  This was a case of learning and developing the game as I went along adding in scores, lives, sounds, bricks and game play dynamics using ActionScript.  Once complete the game construction was documented for the students to use in the computer lab sessions.

The process of learning, what for me (and the students) was a new area of animation design and programming, was relatively straight forward in comparison with other programming languages, prompting the journal article :- Developing Understanding of Programming Principles using Flash Actionscript
